Parliamentarian Visit

Several members of Parliament visited RAF Waddington recently as part of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme (AFPS) – a scheme which has existed for over 25 years raising the awareness of Parliamentarians about the Armed Forces and the work that we do.

During their visit, the Parliamentarians were hosted by Raytheon Systems Ltd and shown a demonstration of the Sentinel Mission Simulator before receiving capability briefs from 5(AC), XIII Sqn and as 1ISR Wing. Established in 2016 1ISR Wing processes and disseminates information collected by 1 Group intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft, providing operationally relevant intelligence products to decisionmakers.

After a full days programme our visitors left with a far better understanding of the environment in which military personnel work, and the key role that RAF Waddington plays in UK Defence.
